Who loves a new year? A new start? This girl loves both! Every month I feel excitement as I review last month’s accomplishments and determine my plan for the new month. While I do this for my business, YES, I also do it for my photos. What about you? How would it feel to look back at 2021 and have your photos safe, memories secure and family enjoying them? This can happen!

Here are a few steps you can take to make the most of your memory keeping.

Look at what you did last year

  • Did you get photos and videos uploaded and organized into your FOREVER storage account? Maybe they are uploaded but need sorted into albums and tagged.
  • What about the boxes and closets filled with slides, negatives, paper photos and VHS tapes? Did you order your FOREVER Box but have not yet sent them for digitizing?
  • How are your photo books and projects coming? I’m sure you are like me and took less photos in 2020, but were you able to make progress on books from previous years?

Make a list of what still needs done

  • Do you have photos that are still sitting on your computer or external hard drive, SD cards, CDs or even floppy discs? Are you ready to make sure these are in your FOREVER Storage account to stay?
  • Are the images in your Storage account waiting for organizing? Would a commitment of 15 minutes per day help?
  • Are you ready to finally digitize the outdated, older family memories so you can view them and easily share with family?
  • Do you have photo books started or in mind? Add them to the list!

Prioritize your next steps for 2021

  • What is at risk for deterioration, loss or natural disaster? These should be at the top of your list! Do not risk loss!
  • Do you have a burning desire to work on a certain project, for a person or event? Put this on your list.
  • Will you have time with an older family member that could share stories, names, dates or other info? Make this a priority.

Set time aside to get to work!

  • Remember my mention of “15 minutes per day”? This is a great way to accomplish what you desire. I promise, if you commit to just 15 minutes per day you will see great progress! It is amazing how much better this works than starting and stopping and starting and stopping over and over.
  • Put it on your calendar. If you enjoy one, two or three hours at a time, put it on your calendar. This could be weekly or monthly but the important thing is to have the time set aside.
  • Join in one of my virtual monthly 2-hour Photo Time Events! I offer a variety of events focused on specific topics to help you. Check my schedule HERE.

I’m here for you, at the other end of the phone, computer or Zoom! I love my “job” helping you reach your photo goals. Please reach out for an individual consultation or register for an event. The opportunity to help you will make 2021 my best year yet! You can do it! Happy New Year!
